                             PURCHASING BOULES

Several people have asked about purchasing boules.  (We will continue to have extra boules for you to borrow each day)  The best place is Petanque America.   They have same day shipping, excellent service, and the owner Philippe Boetts, knows about the Eugene Club.

There are a number of choices in what is called leisure boules.  If you have borrowed boules at University Park when you come to play, they are leisure boules.  They are relatively inexpensive.  Either the Obut Petanque Sets or the Obut Custom Sets would be fine.  I would stay away from the sets with eight boules in them because you might not have 3 boules with the same line pattern.

If you want to get  more serious, buy the competitive boules.   They come in a range of sizes and weights and markings and prices.  What you purchase will depend on your hand size, whether you are doing mostly pointing or shooting, and personal preferences.  You can try out some of the members boules to get a feel for what you want.  The range in weight and sizes is not great, and I would encourage you not to think too hard.    You will adapt.
